Lloyd F. Dennhardt

Lloyd F. Dennhardt, Sr., 90, of Elkhart, died Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011 at home. He was born July 28, 1921 in Rock Island, IL to Ernest S. and Augusta M. (Miller) Dennhardt. He married Doraethea Marchand who preceded him in death on March 9, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter Terry (Patrick) Scott of Bristol, IN and a son Lloyd (Andrea) Dennhardt of Davenport, Iowa, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two brothers Ernest (Lou) and Jerry (Marionette) Dennhardt both of Mesa, AZ and a sister Doris McDole of New Virginia, Iowa. Lloyd was preceded in death by a daughter Chris Horne, a sister Irene A. Seiferman and brothers Richard, Alton and Duane.
Lloyd worked as an auto mechanic in the Elkhart area, retiring from Pletcher Motors in Goshen. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and active in Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Sat. Dec. 17 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where friends may gather 1 hour prior to services. Father Patrick Murphy will officiate. Military honors will follow the funeral service at the funeral home. Lloyd will be entombed in Rice Cemetery at a later date.
