Manuel Aboytes

Manuel Aboytes, age 90 of Elkhart, IN passed away with his family by his side on Friday, September 18, 2026. Manuel was born on November 16, 1935 to Leonardo Aboytes and Romana Estrada in Mexico City, Mexico. He married the love of his life Ofelia they have celebrated over 68 years of marriage together.

Manuel was a hardworking man, always providing for his family. He retired as a professional mover. He enjoyed being outside watching bonfires and growing a beautiful garden. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Manuel is survived by his wife Ofelia, their children Luis (Carmen) Aboytes, Minerva (Anibal) Hernandez, Beatriz (Cruz) Frausto, Araceli (Ricardo Duran Carmona) Aboytes Vazquez, Lizmara (Ted) Shuler and Nallely (Angel) Fitz, 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and his brothers Miguel Aboytes and Jesus Aboytes. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Ivonne Aboytes and his brothers Angel Aboytes, Pedro Aboytes, Edmundo Aboytes and Felipe Aboytes.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be at 6pm. Burial will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Prairie Street Cemetery, for those who wish to go in procession from the funeral home to the cemetery please arrive at the funeral home between 12:15 and 12:30pm on Saturday.
