Marc J. Deuel, age 52, of Bristol was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. Marc was born on January 12, 1968 in Elkhart to Larry Deuel and Susan Stoner (Wilcox).  He married Kathleen McMeekan on October 12, 1996 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart.

Marc graduated from Concord High School class of 1986.  He ran track and pole vaulted until he was asked to stop after snapping so many poles.  His true love was football where he excelled on the field and went to state in 1984.  He loved reliving his glory days on the field.  He must’ve dreamed about playing football at least once a week and couldn’t wait to tell us in the morning about how he saved the day.  He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington. He was employed by Dexter/Ventline in sales and  was a salesman at Bison Coach  for many years.

There was nothing on this earth that Marc was more proud of than his children.  They were truly his biggest and best accomplishments.  He never wasted a minute of his life not spending time with his kids.  Whether it was turkey hunting with Gracie…where he broke down crying when she shot her first bird…or deer hunting and fishing with Henry.  There’s an annual Father/Son weekend at our family compound, “The Hut”, that Marc never missed.  He and Henry had a knack for finding those fish and pulling into the driveway with a cooler full to save the day.  There was never a day that Marc didn’t hug his kids and tell them how much he loved them.  Those big bear hugs will be desperately missed.  If there was one thing that Marc would want to be remembered for, it would how much he loved his family.  In October he and Katie celebrated 24 years of marriage.

Marc coached Middlebury Youth Football League and loved nothing more than Henry following in his football footsteps.  He was a member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, an NRA supporter, and longtime member of Ducks Unlimited.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Henry and Marc spent every chance they could at Papandrea Farm.  This place is sacred to them, too many memories have been made there to even count.

Marc liked to refer to himself as TCP…The Complete Package… and let me tell you…that really summed him up. This name was coined while fishing on Lake Erie…after an apparent epiphany…Marc turned to his friends, and announced that he was THE COMPLETE PACKAGE, turned back around and made another cast. Whether he was riding a tandem with his very best friend, dancing with sparklers between his toes, or making tik-tok’s with Gracie…he lived life BIG.

Marc has nine nieces and nephews.  Elizabeth, Rebecca, Joseph, Thomas, Sam, Charlie, Ella, Jillian and Addison.  His relationship with each one of them was so special…he’s even been deemed a LEGEND.  He will be missed my all of them, he truly had an impact of their lives, and none of them will ever forget him.

When it came to Marc’s faith, he was a quiet man.  But I KNOW that his relationship with Jesus ran deep, and it would be his prayer that all the people that he loved would enter into Paradise with him.

Marc is survived by his loving wife, Katie; their children, Grace Kathryn and Marc Henry, all of Bristol; his father, Larry Deuel of Elkhart; his mother, Susan Stoner of Goshen.  His Brother, Todd Deuel (Beth), Brother in Law, Scott McMeekan (Karen), Sister-in-law, Kristi Mohamed (Jay).
