Margaret “Peg” Jean Ten Have, age 79, of Elkhart, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was born on October 19, 1946 in Ishpeming, MI, to Joseph and Olivia (Northey) Peck. She married Steven Ten Have, who preceded her in death in 2009.
A graduate of Comstock High School, Peg went on to further her education at Ferris State University. She worked for many years for the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana before joining the Concord Community School Corporation as a bus monitor. She also helped with keeping the books at Bethel United Methodist Church, of which she was a life-long member.
In her free time, Peg enjoyed playing the handbells. She was also an avid reader, sharing her love of books with friends in her Bethel UMC book club.
Peg is survived by her daughters; Stephanie (Dustin) Emmons of Royal Center, IN and Sarah Ten Have of Goshen, IN, grandchildren; Joseph Ten Have, Katelynn Daniels, Staci Daniels, Jacob Daniels, Tatiana Nelson, Brandon Ten Have and Phoebe Ten Have, great-grandchildren; Della, Summer, Andromeda and Orion, twin brother Robert (Marilyn) Peck of Allegan, MI and sister Elizabeth Peck of Paw Paw, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Olivia Peck, and her husband Steven Ten Have.
A memorial service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church https://bethelumc-elkhart.org or to the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana https://www.girlscoutsnorthernindiana-michiana.org.
