Mercedes Quinones

Mercedes Quinones, 92 of Elkhart, IN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Mercedes was born on August 12, 1932 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to Eugenio Quinones and Maria Camacho. She married Miguel Carrillo in Brooklyn, New York in 1952.

Mercedes loved the Lord. She enjoyed planting beautiful flowers and plants. She loved candy, especially chocolates, however she loved her family more. She loved to spend time with friends and family. Mercedes will be sadly missed.

Mercedes is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Luis Mass) Carrillo of Elkhart, IN and Yolanda Carrillo both of Elkhart, IN; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 9.5 great-great-grandchildren and her brother Johnny (Miltilde) Avila of Queens, NY. Mercedes was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sons Miguel Carrillo and Angelo Carrillo.

A celebration of Mercedes life will be celebrated privately with close friends and family, and will be announced at a later time.
