Michael Brooks, 70, of Elkhart, IN formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family, with his dog by his side. Michael was born on December 28, 1953 to Robert Lee and Bernice Brooks in Chicago, IL. He married Miriam Rivera, and she preceded him in death in 2015.
Michael is survived by his son, William (Tracy) Rivera of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren Jamar Rivera, Kobi Hawkins, William Rivera, Jr., Michael Tupayachi and Leah Tupayachi; brothers Napoleon (Amy) Brooks of Elkhart and Anthony (Brenda) Brooks of Bradley, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Robert Lee Brooks, Jr., James Brooks, Bernice Brooks, Sylvia Brooks and Charles Brooks.
