Michael L. Gest

Michael L. Gest of Bristol, IN, passed away on Monday, June 17th, in Bristol, Indiana.

Mike was born on June 10, 1956, in Sturgis, Michigan. He graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1974. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Linda K. (Geyer) Gest. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. (Geyer) Gest of Bristol, IN; children, Triena (Sina) Seliger-Gest of Düsseldorf, Germany, and Kris Gest of Goshen, IN; grandchildren, Anlyssa (Daniel) Strange of Elkhart, IN, Austin (Allyanna) Gest of Plymouth, IN, and Brock Gest of Bremen, IN; and great-grandchildren, Cyrus Strange, Dean Strange, Ace Gest, and Felicity Strange. 

Mike is also survived by his parents, Lynn and Gloria Gest of White Pigeon, MI; his sister, Julie MacPherson of Sturgis, MI; and his brother, Dan (Sue) Gest of White Pigeon, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty (Geyer) Lawson, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. 

Though Mike may not have liked being the center of attention, he was a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Mike spent over 50 years in the industry, working over 20 years at HomeCrest Corp. and later until his retirement at Thor Motor Coach. He met his wife Linda at Coachmen. Mike was a baseball coach, golfer, poker player, Harley rider, and avid Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fan. 

We find comfort in knowing that Mike’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. A Celebration of Life will be held at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart, Indiana on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 1pm – 4 pm. We kindly ask friends to dress casually or wear their favorite sports team T-shirt.
