Nalayia Nevaeh Pereida

Nalayia Nevaeh Pereida, 15 of Elkhart passed away on Sunday, June 22,2025 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX with her family by her side. Nalayia was born on December 20, 2009 in Indianapolis, IN to Fabian and Evelyn Pereida.

Nalayia was in the 8th grade at Pierre Moran Middle School in Elkhart, IN. She was known for having an infectious smile. She loved to sing, play on her tablet and make tick-tock videos. She enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts. Pink was her favorite color, from the clothes that she would wear, to the color her mom would paint her fingernails. She also enjoyed cake, any flavor would do, especially when she smashes it in someone’s face. Nalayia enjoyed cheese, mainly when it was on her own charcuterie board that her mom would make her. Her favorite cake was when her mom made her a cake of several varieties of cheese. Most of all she loved to spend time with her sisters and brother.

Nalayia is survived by her parents Fabian and Evelyn Pereida; her siblings Natalie, Lydia and Liam Pereida; grandparents Maria and Juan Pereida of Elkhart and Christina and Norman Valladares of Elkhart; great-grandparents Esperanza Pereida of Elkhart, and Linda Castellon of Mishawaka, IN. Nalayia was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers Ramon Pereida and Rudolfo Escobedo.

Visitation will be from 2-6pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, IN, 46514 and on July 1, 2025 from 10-11 am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1108 South Main Street, Elkhart, IN 46516 where a mass of Christian burial will be at 11am. Interment will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, IN. Memorial donations in memory of Nalayia may be made to her parents to help with funeral and burial expenses.
