Nancy A. Ashby

Nancy A. Ashby, 72, of Bristol, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2:50 am at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born February 18, 1937 in Green Bay, WI to Leo and Betsy (Wilson) Thibaudeau. She married William F. Ashby on November 28, 1959 in Green Bay. He survives along with 2 daughters Julie (Jeff) Weddle of Goshen, Stephanie (Scott) Wade of Milwaukee, WI; a son Mark (Jessica) Ashby of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 3 sisters Ellen (Rex) Hennenfent of Dubuque, IA, Janice (Dan) Trial of St. Louis, MO, Linda (Don) Ditzman of Green Bay, WI; and a brother Paul (Susan) Thibaudeau of Milwaukee, WI.

Mrs. Ashby worked as a Head Start teacher for 9 years and was formerly a flight attendant for Continental Airlines. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and loved flowers, gardening, bird-watching and crafts. A Green Bay Packers fan, she also loved her 2 dogs Molly and Muffin.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart with a vigil service at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol with visitation one hour prior to the service. Father Bob VanKempen will officiate. Cremation will follow.
