Nila Jane (Luke) Weltz

August 11, 1933-April 29, 2024

Nila Jane Weltz, 90, of Elkhart, IN passed away on April 29,2024 at Eastlake Terrace Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. Nila was born on August 11, 1933, to Andrew and Kathryn (Snell) Luke in Elkhart, IN. Nila married Robert L. Weltz, Sr. on May 22, 1953, on Elkhart, IN he preceded her in death on September 20, 2017

Nila is survived by her son Ricky Weltz of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Heather (Ron) Cody, Ami (Robert) McBride, Danielle (Keith) Beber, Autumn (Jorda) Grove, Tyler Bennett, Ian Weltz and Mathias Weltz and 7 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Atreyu, Noah, Joshua, Inaki and Ridge; sisters Joyce (Devon) Newman of Elkhart, IN and Sally Wagner of Elkhart, IN. Nila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Weltz, JR. and siblings Judith Coelho, James (Loretta) Luke and brother-in-law Paul Wagner.

Nila graduated from Lacrosse High School in 1951. She worked as a machine operator for over 10 years at CTS. She was a devoted wife, loving mother to her two sons, she especially loved to spend time with her siblings and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to watch sports on tv, working in her garden and solving crossword puzzles.
