Patricia Hudkins

Patricia (Pat) Claire Hudkins, 84, of Cassopolis, MI, passed away and gained eternal rest in her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 21, 2026 after a brief stay at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in New York December 11, 1941 in New York to Robert and Ina (Pifer) Deisenroth. She married Walter Hudkins August 17, 1963. They have been married 62 years and lived them to the fullest with many fun times. She graduated from Elkhart High in 1960.
She was a paraprofessional in Special Education for 30 years and retired in 2004 from Elkhart Schools. She really put her life into her students, and each one had a special place in her heart. She was a member of Grace Bible for over 50 years and served in many areas including church secretary and 5th/6th grade girls Sunday School class. She loved the Lord and served Him to the best of her ability. She was a faithful prayer warrior for so many. Her family was the love of her life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always top priority. She was so blessed by them and their caring way that they spent time with her and showed their love in all they did and were always there when she needed help as she got older. She enjoyed all the traveling she was able to do with her family. Through the years she liked to collect things: butterflies, dolphins, bears, and lighthouses. She loved to decorate her house inside and out for every holiday.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Walt, Daughter: Heidi (Ron) Cripe, Grandchildren: Jake (Samantha) Cripe, JoEllen (Matthew) Fincham, Luke (Shania) Cripe, Great-Grandchildren: Brady, Kallen, Jackson, McKenzie, Elsie, Vivian, and Walter. Also surviving are her siblings: Gail Ramler, Sue (Alain) Flanders-Doenges, and Greg (Kathy) Deisenroth and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ina Deisenroth.
Visitation will be held at Grace Bible Church, 1700 Edwardsburg Ave. Elkhart, IN 46514 on Saturday, March 7th from 9:30 to 11:30 am with the service at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Bible Church.
