Phyllis K. Baylor

Phyllis K. Baylor, 91 of Elkhart, died at 6:25 PM Feb. 19, 2012 at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born Feb. 9, 1921 in Elkhart to Frank and Mabel (Kircofe) Aldendorf and married Robert M. Baylor on Sept. 28, 1941. He died Jan. 10, 2000. Surviving are a son, Robert M. (Lynn) Baylor Jr. of Bern, NC; 3 daughters, Patricia (Richard) Roske, Diane (Alan) Johnson and Beverly (Michael) Croninger all of Elkhart; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Larsen of Elkhart. A brother, Charles Aldendorf and 4 sisters, Ruth Weldon, Idella Carns, Ann Viol and Marilyn Kirk preceded in death.
Phyllis graduated from Elkhart High School and retired in 1981, after 24 years as a machine operator for Miles Laboratories and was a homemaker. She loved to crochet baby clothes and spend time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart, where services will be at 11am Thursday with Rev. Andrea Bremmer of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
