Rhonda Collins

Rhonda L. Collins, 75, of Bristol, IN passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 with her family by her side at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN. Rhonda was born on April 9, 1950 to Doug and Dorothy Jenison in Grand Rapids, MI. She married Steve Collins on August 15, 1969 in Hudsonville, MI.

Rhonda graduated from Hudsonville High School, in Hudsonville, MI, class of 1968. She and her husband Steve own and operate Red Bird Tavern in Bristol, IN, this has been a family business for over 80 years. She loves golfing. Most of all Rhonda loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Rhonda is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Steve; their sons, Derek (Kelli) Collins of Fishers, IN., Jason (Kandace) Collins of Granger, IN. and Gavin (Sarah) Collins of Bristol, IN; and her mom Dorothy Jenison of Jenison, MI; nine grandchildren Kat Collins, Lizzie Collins, Emily Collins, Abby Collins, Kelsey Collins, Morgan Collins, Reece Collins, Lauryn German and Cruz Collins; her siblings Steve (Betty) Jenison or Byron Center, MI, Brenda Carr of Grandville, MI and Pete Jenison of Hudsonville, MI. Rhonda was preceded in death by her father Doug Jenison and her siblings Kelly Jenison and Kevin Jenison.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 12pm with a time to visit one hour before funeral services.
