Richard John Uplinger, II age 66 of Goshen, IN passed away at his home surrounded by his family early on Friday, May 1,2026. John was born on October 18, 1959 to Richard J. and Helen Louise Uplinger in Elkhart, IN. John married the love of his life, Jackie Evans on April 18, 2015 in Bangor, MI, together they have celebrated over 11 years together.
John is survived by his wife Jackie; his children Jeremy (Krista) Uplinger and Cassandra (Bart) Matos and his step-children; 27 grandchildren, Jordan Borrelli, Hayden Adrian, Khylee, Jay, Aaron, JT, Blake, Adrianna, Carmin, Lucia, and Damien and 3 great-grandchildren; his siblings Bob Galbrieth, Leola (Bob) Stobblefield, Loretta Dickey, Ron (Lori) Uplinger as well as several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by mom Helen (Howard) Cart, dad Richard (Yvonne) Uplinger and his son Keith Uplinger.
John worked in the RV industry. He loved playing music, giving guitar lessons and painting guitars, as well as painting rocks. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting bear and deer and riding his Harley Davidson Fatboy. John loved sharing his cooking and baking with everyone. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2310 Eisenhower Drive North, Goshen, IN 46526 where friend and family may gather one hour before services. Tracy Cline will officiate.
