Richard “ Dick” Eugene Kennedy, 81, of Elkhart, IN passed away at his home on June 20, 2023, with his wife by his side. Dick was born on June 2, 1942 to William and Wanda Kennedy in Hannibal, MO. He married Judy Lovejoy on November 17, 1961 at Dunlap Evangelical United Brethren.

Dick graduated from Concord High School class of 1960 and attended Purdue University and Indiana University South Bend. He enjoyed his career in the marine industry, working in a key position at several boat manufacturers.  He was the General manager at Chris Craft in Goshen, IN and Holland, MI. He enjoyed spending time with his friends on the golf course, or simply going for a boat ride on Lake Wawasee. His favorite time was spent with his family.  He was a member of the Tyrian 12 Lodge Free and Accepted Mason’s and the Elks Lodge in Elkhart.

Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Kennedy, their children Leslie Greene of Warren, MI., and Brant (Jonna) Kennedy of Potomac Falls, VA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, his sister Lynda Pack of Manchester, TN. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, his sister Sheila and his son-in-law Ron Greene.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514. Please dress casual.
