Ricky Duane Weltz

Ricky Duane Weltz of Elkhart, IN passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Care-Esther’s House in Elkhart, IN. He was born on April 11, 1965, during the Palm Sunday tornado outbreak, to Robert and Nila Weltz in Elkhart, IN.  

He is survived by his sons, Ian Weltz, Mathias Weltz and Tyler Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nila, and his brother Robert Weltz, Jr. Ricky graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School, class of 1983, and attended Southwestern Michigan College. He was an accomplished guitarist and played in a variety of bands. In his youth he enjoyed competitive swimming. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed.
