Robert E. Doan

Robert E. Doan, 84 of Elkhart died August 5, 2011 at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on April 24, 1927 in Kalamazoo, MI. to George and Elizabeth (Poth) Doan.

Survivors include two sisters, Doris M. (Elvin) Stewart of Granger, IN. and Marian Heckman of Ft. Wayne, IN. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mildred Clark, Elberta Davis and Margaret Wise.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing. Burial will take place at Little Pine Cemetery, Elkhart.

Mr. Doan worked for Buescher Band Instrument Company in Elkhart and most recently as a self employed carpenter and handyman. He attended First Baptist Church in Elkhart, loved animals and was known for passing out Peppermint Candy. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
