Susan L. (Griffin) Neher

Susan L. Neher, 74, of Bristol, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at her home, with her husband by her side. She was born October 25, 1948 in Elkhart to Joseph E. and Margaret R. Griffin. On November 20, 1976 in Elkhart, she married Ronald E. Neher who survives.

Susan graduated for Elkhart High School in 1966 and attended Indiana University in South Bend, taking courses in Accounting and Business Management. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Red Hats of Elkhart and Clowns International. After many years in accounting work, Neher Computer Associates was started with her husband Ronald, Computer installations and programming services were offered to local companies along with connectivity products. After 30 years, Neher Computer Associates was closed and retirement was on the horizon. She then attended the University of Michigan to be a commissioned Clown named “Teddy”.

One of her favorite activities was water skiing on the St. Joseph River. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida and socializing with friends. Her annual vacations were usually spent on River Paddleboats and traveled most of the U.S. rivers from the Hudson to the Columbia. One year they brought a paddleboat back from Alaska. One exception was the year they went to Mexico, (Cancun) Chichen Itza to see and climb the Mayan Pyramid at El Castello.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ronald, a sister and 2 brothers, Jerry and Carolyn of Elkhart and George of Niles. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Joseph E. Griffin.

Visitation will be from 11am- 1pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 465414 where services will be at 1pm where Sister Nora Frost will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Memorials for Susan may be given to the charity of the donors choice.
