Susan K. Nix

Susan K. Nix, 71, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Tuesday April 2, 2024.  She was born on July 7 1952 in Elkhart, IN to James and MaryLou (Olinger) Ingersoll.  She married David Nix on August 3, 1968 in Elkhart.

She is survived by her husband, David; 2 sons, Larry Nix and Randy (Tamara) Nix; a daughter, Mary (Tommy) Schifanella; 6 grandchildren: Amber, Nathaniel, Parks, Maddie, Kayley and Gabriella; a brother, Doug (Kim) Ingersoll; and her mother, MaryLou Weldy. Susan was preceded in death by a son, Brian P. Nix, and her father, James Ingersoll.

Susan was previously employed with Johnson Controls but was most proud of owning her own cleaning company and an antique shop.  Her most important job was being a wife and mother.  She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed garage sales and antique shopping.  She was a collector of many things - she had a knack for finding the value in things others discarded. She will be remembered for fearlessly living her life as she chose.
