Thomas Anthony Marchese

Thomas Anthony Marchese, 78 of Elkhart, IN passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN. Tom was born on November 17, 1947 to James and Rose Mary Marchese in Passaic, NJ. Tom married Sharon Stemm in May of 2000.

Tom graduated from Elkhart High School, class of 1967. He honorably served his country in the Army of the United States of America during Vietnam. He worked at Elkhart General Hospital in the Environmental Services where he was affectionately known as “Tom the carpet man.” Tom loved sports and supporting his favorite team, Indiana University. Tom and his wife Sharon are members at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. They loved to travel. They loved to spend time with family and friends, especially while enjoying a nice meal.

Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Marchese of Elkhart, IN and his sister Roberta (Gerald) Whittington of Chapel Hill, NC., his sister-in-law Jill (Paul) Augspurger and brother-in-law Bob (Susan) Stemm; his niece Hannah and nephew Ben, as well as many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 am - 11am on Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1108 South Main Street, Elkhart, IN 46516 where a mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am. Burial for Tom will be private at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
