Thomas R. Strampel, 68, of Elkhart, died December 6, 2010 at 11:00 pm at the Elkhart Hospice House. He was born September 23, 1942 in Cook County, IL to Arthur and Lenora (Rantz) Strampel. He married Patricia L. Cole on December 19, 1968 in Chicago.
She survives along with their son Scott Strampel of Elkhart. His parents preceded him in death.
Thomas was an over the road truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed carpentry and model trains.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ed Ritchie officiating. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart is handling arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
