Virginia (Lee) Kime

August 1, 1927 — February 20, 2020

Elkhart

Virginia (Lee) Kime passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She lived 92 wonderful years. She was born to the late David Sr. and Mildred (Eustice) Lee on August 1, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Virginia, or as many called her “Ginny” married the love of her life, Von, after corresponding for three years while Von was in the Navy after a friend set them up as pen pals. They were married for almost 70 years. They were blessed with three children: Marnee Kime, Kathee Kime Kirchner, and Gary Kime; five grandchildren: Shannan (John) Wesseler, Renee (Jeremy) Dominiak, John DeMoss, Peter Kime, and Jeremiah (Corrine) DeMoss; seven great-grandchildren: Killian, Ophelia, Avery, John- Henry, Samuel, Ryan, Nichole; and “ adopted” great -grandson, Camden Chaffee. Also surviving are a sister, Lorraine (James) Ford; sisters in law, Marilyn Loucks, Lois Kime, Lois (Gene) Coney, Viana Lee, and Alice Lee; along with many nieces and nephews.

Ginny is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Lee and David ‘Bud’ Lee Jr., sister- in- law, Vera Singleton; and brother’s-in-law, Dwight Kime, Jr., Don Singleton, and Virgil Loucks.

Ginny grew up in Larksville, Pennsylvania and moved to Indiana when she met Von and married. She taught pre-school for twenty-seven years at Dunlap United Methodist Church where she attended church with her family until her death. Ginny was a kind and loving person. She always made you feel special. If you were lucky, she would make her finger- Jello, which was especially loved by her husband and grandchildren. When you went to her house, walks to the mall or the flavor freeze were always taken, trips to the playground, or the best, playing ball in the hall.

The family would like to especially thank Elkhart General Hospital, Riverside Village, and Heartland Hospice for the great care they gave Ginny in her final days.
