Walter R. Everest, 78, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday July 29 at Elkhart Hospice House.
He was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Elkhart to Harrison H. and Amelia M. (Dull) Everest.
On May 20, 1978, in Dunlap, IN., he married Cheryl M. Thompson who preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2009.
Surviving are 2 sons: Basil E. Davis and Ryan J. Davis both of Bristol, a daughter Jennifer M. (Joe) Ankrom of Goshen, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his sister Katheryn Louise Everest.
Walter was a farmer all of his working life and a member of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 2pm funeral on Fri. Aug. 1 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, with Pastor Raymond Laborde of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
