Wayne Kyle

Wayne D. Kyle, 89 of Elkhart, IN formerly of Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart, IN. Wayne was born on March 14, 1936 in Elkhart, IN to William Howard and Ina Jane Kyle. He married Nancy Lou Schult on July 29, 1956, she preceded him in death on October 29, 2021.

Wayne owned Thrif-T Body Shop in Wheatland, Wyoming. Wayne owned several antique cars throughout his lifetime. He had a passion for working on them, especially restoring them from the beginning to the end. Wayne enjoyed vacations with his family and where he found peace at the end of the day fishing on Silver Lake in St. Joseph Michigan. He also enjoyed vacation time with his grandchildren at Disney Land. Wayne was affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Pooh Bear", which was a name that was very catchy to others. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, for his church, or special gatherings or just for family and friends entertainment. He was active in his local church.  Wayne loved to spend time with his family, and he will be sadly missed.

Wayne is survived by his children, Crystal (David) Gruber of Elkhart, IN., Cynthia (Joe) DeSoto of Hemet, CA., Cathleen Blazevich of Las Vegas, NV., and Candy Bowen of Wheatland, WY; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and his brother Larry (Pam) Kyle of Columbia, TN. Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Howard "Lamar" Kyle.

A celebration of life service will be held for Wayne at 11 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where visitation will be held from 10am -11 am.
