William "Bill" Rohman

William “Bill” Harold Rohman, age 91, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Raclin House- Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, IN with his family by his side. Bill was born on October 3, 1934 to William and Mabel Rohman in Detroit, MI. He married Karen on December 21, 1979 at the Little Log Cabin at Heaton Lake in Elkhart, IN.

Bill graduated from high school and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as an Air Force Major on September 1, 1973. He acquired many medals, one that was very special to his heart, the distinguished flying cross. He flew a kc135 refueling plane and was a forward air controller. He worked in customer service and the warrantee department in the RV industry, serving such places as Monaco Coach, Star Craft and Champion. Bill never met a stranger. Bill loved to spend time with his family and will be sadly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Karen; their children, Robin (Doug) VanZile of Vandalia, MI., Beth Iavagnilio of Elkhart, IN., Kristin (Larry) Christopulos of Bristol, IN., Scott (Glenda) Southard of Colorado Springs, CO., Mark (Kim) Goodman of Poolville, TX., Bill (Dorenna) Rohman of Washington, Greg (Dawn) Rohman of Florida, Robert (Debbie) Rohman of Michigan 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; as well as his brother John (Patty) Rohman of Michigan and sister Marylou (Marion) Roberts of Alabama. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty Chase and his daughter Dianna Hadaway, her twin who passed as an infant Joann Rohman, and sons Michael “Micky” Rohman and James “Jim” Rohman.

Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will be at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI., with full military honors.
