William Richard Broderick, known affectionately as Bill to friends and family, was born on March 27, 1957, in Hawthorne, California. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 30, 2025, at the age of 68. Bill was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and remarkable spirit.
A proud graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School, Bill finished in the top 10 of his class in 1975. He was a member of the National Honor Society and a dedicated athlete on the track and cross-country teams, where he formed lasting friendships and developed a love of competition and perseverance.
While still in high school, Bill met the love of his life, Susie Glick. They were married at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Elkhart, Indiana, on August 27, 1977, beginning a lifetime of deep devotion, laughter, and shared memories.
After graduation, Bill attended Wabash College for two years before choosing to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career in chiropractic. He enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he thrived academically, graduating with honors and a perfect 4.0 GPA in 1980.
Bill absolutely loved his chiropractic family, patients, and practice, and would do anything for anyone. He especially loved his family and friends, who were the center of his world.
Bill was a devoted husband to Susie, with whom he built a beautiful life. He was a proud father to Chad (Angela) Broderick, Cami (Ab) Saleh, and Sean (Kiera) Broderick. Among his greatest joys was being a grandfather to Henry, Louisa, and Frankie Saleh, and Breckin Broderick. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye, and he embraced his role as their biggest fan with deep pride and endless love.
A cherished son, Bill leaves behind his father, Gerald “Jerry” Broderick, who instilled in him the enduring values of integrity, humility, and hard work. He is also survived by his loving siblings: Cheryl (Steve) Lieurance, Stuart (Dody) Broderick, and Laurie (Steve) Berggren—each of whom carries fond memories of Bill’s kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Anna, his uncle, Jon Espenes, and Richard Zimmerman.
As family and friends reflect on his life, they hold dear the wonderful moments and stories shared with Bill—the laughter, the compassion, and the boundless spirit that made him truly unforgettable.
