William McDowell

William “Moosebrain” M. McDowell, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Monday February 24, 2025. He was born July 12, 1944, in Elkhart to Roy and Mary Jane McDowell. On April 8, 1994, he married Angie Zollinger in Venice, FL.

William was a tool and die maker and retired from CTS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing card games and hanging out with his friends and family.

Surviving are his wife Angie, daughters Shawn (Chris) Hermon and Shannon May (Chad), grandchildren Nathan and Travis Hermon, Derek and Addison May, great-grandson Landon May, sister-in-law Trudy McDowell, niece Terrie (Rob) Williamson, great-nephews Brock, Zac, Eric and great-niece, Abby. William was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mary Jane McDowell and John Kline, brother Tom McDowell, niece Tonda Obregon and nephew Trent McDowell, and great-niece Miranda Obregon.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 5pm Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where the funeral services will follow at 5pm.
