William D, Myers, 87, of Goshen, passed away Saturday May 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 13, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to Nelson S and Mildred Lucille Myers. On December 29, 2001 in Elkhart, he married Linda (Zugel) Newburn.
After graduating from high school, William proudly served in the United States Air Force then went to the Police Academy and becoming an officer for Dayton and Beavercreek, Ohio police departments. After leaving the police departments he became a Management Consultant for manufacturers for over 25 years. He enjoyed golf, bicycling, racquetball and tennis. He was a member of Moose Lodge #799 in Elkhart, a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Goshen and he enjoyed trips on his Harley with friends and family. He liked watching NASCAR and loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.
Surviving William are his wife Linda, children: William N. (Barb Slone) Myers, Jonathon (Katherine Consuela) Myers, Anthony Newburn, Jason (Kim) Newburn, Regina Myers, Cheri (Lee Maile) Strine and daughter-in-law Cheryl Strine, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother Dennis Myers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Dan Strine, brother Harvey Myers and sisters Barbara Lacon and Marion Rawlins.
Visitation for William will be 4 to 8 pm Thursday May 29, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 where a funeral service will be at 10 am Friday May 30, 2025. Pastor John Hogsett will officiate. He will be interred at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
