Alysjane G. (Torok) Whisler

Alysjane G. Whisler, 94, of Elkhart, passed away Monday January 27, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital at 7:13 p.m. She was born May 6, 1925 in Elkhart to Harley and Velma Bates.  She married John Torok on April 13, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1988. On November 9, 1996 she married Clifford Whisler.

Alysjane graduated from Elkhart High School class of 1943. She worked for the Honorable Charles Hughes from 1972 to 1978 in Elkhart Superior Court No. 1; for the Honorable Stephen E. Platt from 1978 to 1984 in Elkhart County Court and for the Honorable Stephen E. Platt in Elkhart Superior Court No. 2 from 1984 until she retired in January 1997.

Alysjane is survived by her husband, Clifford; children, Shari (Jim) Woodruff, Kathi (Tom) Conn , Sarah Pauwels, Patrick Whisler, Rachel Whisler and Renea (Allen) Smith;  grandchildren, Brian (Kim) Conn, Kristin (Jeremy) Lugbill, Logan (Alena Dutkevych) Woodruff, Noell (Dean) Guidice, Amanda Pauwels, Laura (Austin) Slabach, Jim(Nicole) Whisler, Mary Whisler, James Anderson, Mick (Becca) Anderson, Morgan Smith, Brendan Smith and  Ali (Andy) Orr; great grandchildren, Kamryn, Caedon, Lila, Liam, Zachary, Olivia  and Rowan; great- great-grandchildren Zoey and Lilly. Her sister-in-law Marilyn Bates. She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Bates and step-daughter, Melissa Walker; step-son Clifford Whisler; her step- son-in-law John Pauwels.

In keeping with Alysjane wishes there will be a celebration of life service at 2pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where friends may visit one hour before services at the funeral home. Pastor Kerry Clear will officiate
