January 31, 1957 ~ December 31, 2023 (age 66) 66 Years Old
Carol Mae Hamilton, 66 of Elkhart, IN passed away Sunday December 31, 2023 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation. Carol was born on January 31, 1957 in LaPorte, IN to Bob and Sharon Hamilton.
Carol enjoyed life. She formerly worked at ADEC and McDonald’s. In high school, 1978 she was awarded 1st place in the Special Olympic high jump, she jumped 3 feet 5 inches. She liked to watch monkeys on her apple tablet. She liked to crochet and knit blankets. She was always up for a mind challenge by working word search book, playing card games or board games such as sorry, uno and aggravation just to name a few. She enjoyed watching Gilligan's Island, Full House and WWE wresting Roman Reigns. Her favorite song was Picture by Kid Rock. She loved to go to the Elkhart County 4-H fair and out to dinner with Paul. She will be sadly missed.
Carol is survived by her sister Allysen (Enrique) Martinez of North Ridgeville, OH and her lifelong companion of over 37 years, Paul Gallay of Elkhart, IN 10 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great -nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Bob Hamilton and Sharon Keener, her sisters Cheryl Hawks and Betty Rose, stepdad Hugo “Bud” Keener and stepmom Hazel Hamilton.
Visitation will be from 11am – 1pm on Thursday January 4, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home 1531 Cobblestone Bld., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be at 1pm. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
