Clifford Wegmann Obituary

Clifford R. Wegmann, 64, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday September 29, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1955 in Glen Cove, NY to Clifford H. and Mildred Wegmann.  On July 17, 1977 at St. James Church, NY he married Donna Scutellaro who survives along with 4 children; Michael (Kollie) Wegmann of Alanson, MI, Rachel (Josh) Wegmann of Elkhart, Daniel (Chelsea)Wegmann of White Lake, MI, and Holly (Mark) Wegman of San Antonio, TX; 8 grandchildren: Jayla, Nevaeh, Hope, Landan, Adrianna, Haidyn, Hailey and Kiara, and a sister Caroll (Lowell) Brady of McKinney, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Audrey Zawistowski.

Cliff loved early morning walks, trips to St. Joseph and breakfast at Tosi’s Café. Walking at the lighthouse always brought joy when he spotted rare water birds. He was especially good at spotting hawks along the roadsides when he traveled. How wonderful it was when he spotted eagles.

Cliff loved baseball, growing up in New York and seeing some of the greats play, he was a Yankees fan. He fondly recalled watching Micky Mantle play. Strangers quickly became friends when he commented on their opposing team’s baseball caps.

Music brought him much joy. He was especially fond of blues music, but also enjoyed classic rock and traditional country music. He was a fan of vinyl music and always liked playing a tune or two on his turntable. He volunteered at Ignition Music Garage in Goshen and was a fan of the Goshen College Radio Station, 91.1 The Globe.
