Connie Sue Neely

Connie Sue Neely, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday April 21, 2021 at home. She was born December 2, 1942 in LaPorte, IN to Alonzo “Joe” and Phyllis Haney. On Oct. 21, 1977 in Elkhart, she married Bruce B. Neely.

After graduating from Nappanee High School, she worked as a receptionist and switchboard operator for Whitehall Laboratories. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where she was in the Esther Circle. She was formerly a member of the Moose Lodge.

Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Bruce; daughters, Tammie (Stacey) Porzelius of Lima, OH and Teresa (Shaun) Hurm of Carmel, IN; 4 grandchildren, Cassidy, Dalton, Piper and Summer; brother Terry Thompson of Nappanee and honorary sister, Judy Mock of Ft. Myers, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Troy Porzelius and a brother, Norm Thompson.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday April 26, 2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor John Hogsett will officiate the service.
