Conrad "Vince" Jones

Conrad “ Vince” Jones, 92, of Elkhart, passed away Friday January 24, 2020 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart. Vince was born August 3, 1927 in Emporia, KS to Conard B. and Frances S. (Barnes) Jones.

On October 20, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart, he married Frances L. Kuehm. Surviving are his wife of 68 years and his nieces, Sally (Michael) Bruno and Kerry Jenkins; his nephews Jeffrey (Sandy) Kuehm and Kevin (Pam) Kuehm. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Arthur Jones and his sister, Lavon Dillon.

After high school Vince attended Kansas State Teachers College after joining the Navy during WWII. He then was drafted into the Army from 1951 – 1953 serving in Korea. He worked for Faries McMeekan, Inc as a production manager for 37 years before retiring. He loved working with metal in his extensive machine shop in his basement, helping many of his neighbors and friends. Vince and Fran were very active at Trinity Lutheran Church.  They enjoyed traveling by motor vehicle to all 50 states and enjoyed wintering in Florida after his retirement. For over 27 years they played cribbage together, always keeping track of their winning games.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1:30 pm service on Wednesday Jan. 29, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 30888 County Road 6, Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Spencer Mielke and Pastor Christopher Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Rice Cemetery, Chapel of Faith, Elkhart.

Memorials for Vince may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
