Cora Belle (Hastings) Grubb

Cora Belle Grubb, 96, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, Sep. 27, 2020. Cora Belle was born at Goshen Hospital on August 14, 1924 to Delbert and Bertha Hastings.

She and her parents moved to Milford, IN where her father ran The Milford Drug Store for over 50 years. Cora Belle graduated from Milford High School and married Edwin R. Grubb on Aug. 30, 1942. Edwin preceded her in death December, 1989. Cora Belle and Ed had 5 children. Judith (David) Stephey who both preceded her in death in 2016; Edwin D. Grubb, Elkhart; Cora Sue (Larry) Eisenhour, Syracuse, IN; Steven K. (Karen) Grubb, Goshen: Teresa (Gayle) Faunce, Elkhart. Besides 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Cora Belle was employed by Elkhart County for 20 years (18 of those years in Voter Registration). She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; the Order of Eastern Star-White Shrine of Jerusalem; and the Democratic Womens Clerk. Cora and Edwin served for many years as advisors for the Rainbow Girls on the local and state levels. They also served in the mission field in Antigua and Dominque for Trinity Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Wednesday Sep. 30, 2020 at Stemm-Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 and 1 hour prior to the 11 am funeral service on Thursday October 1, 2020 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
