Denis L. Stemm

Denis L. Stemm, age 80, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen. Denis was born September 21, 1940 in Elkhart to Richard and Gladys Stemm.

Denis retired from the US Postal Service after 32 years of service as a claims clerk. He was formerly a member of First Brethren Church of Elkhart and most recently a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his children Myra (Patrick) Simpson of Goshen and Vergel Stemm of Indiana, his brother; Alan (Joan) Stemm of Albuquerque, NM.; his grandchildren, Chamryn and Evelyn.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joan Stemm and his brother, Gary Stemm.

In keeping with Denis’ wishes graveside services will be at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the Stemm family. Pastor John Hogsett is officiating.
