Dorothy Marie (Johnson) Hamilton

Dorothy Marie Hamilton, 106, of Bristol passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Greenleaf Health Campus. Dorothy was born on September 5, 1913 in Bristol, IN to Roy E. and Ada Johnson. She married Marion “Kirby” Hamilton on October 25, 1934 in Bremen.

Dorothy graduated from Bristol High School. She was a loving wife and mother to her family and for a short time she worked for CTS in Elkhart. She was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church since 1948 and church membership secretary for 46 years.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Phillip Roy (Ruth) Hamilton of Elkhart, grandchildren, HolliJo Hamilton of Elkhart and Brian Phillip Hamilton of Linton, IN and her great-granddaughter Ashley Marie Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Eldon Johnson and Floyd Johnson, sisters, Alice Grubb, Isabelle Simpson, Toka Canen and Maxine Ross and her granddaughter- in-law, Michelle Hamilton.

Friends may visit on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 12 -1pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Lewis from Bristol United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen.
