Elena Maria Hernandez Urribarri

Our beloved Elena was called into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 4,, 1924 in Cabimas-Venezuela to Gregoria Urribarri and Francisco Hernandez (both preceded her death) She was married to Jose del Carmen Montiel for 36 year. She had 9 children: Isbelia J. Montiel de Silva, (Cornelio Silva) Roberto Montiel (Diana M. de Montiel), Leandro Montiel (Coromoto Medina) Irene M. de Gonzalez (Raul Gonzalez), Luis A. Montiel (Luz de Montiel) Ida Montiel, Miguel Montiel, Iris M. de Perez (Eliseo Perez, preceded her in death) Mark Cain, and one step daughter Beatriz Barboza.

Elena was loved by her 33 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Jose F. Hernandez, Luis A. Hernandez and Elsa Urribarri and a son, Oscar Montiel.

Friends may visit with family from 10 am – 12 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Bld., Elkhart, IN 46541. Where her funeral services will take place at 12pm at the funeral home. Pastor Luis Montiel of River Oaks Community Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.
