Garre Schell Obituary

Garre T. Schell, Sr., 83, of Bristol, passed away Saturday Feb. 23, 2019 at his home.

He was born Feb.13, 1936 in Hinsdale, IL to Floyd W. and Edna L. (Garre) Schell. On Oct. 26, 1957 in Bristol, he married Myrna L. Menges who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1999.

Surviving are his sons, Garre T. (Nancy) Schell, II of Hilliard, OH and Robert E. (Ursula) Schell of Bristol,  grandchildren: Rebecca, Eric, Alexandria, Christina and Jared; brothers: Edward Schell of Chicago, IL and Peter Schell of Virginia, sister:  Cindy (Larry) Kimes of Bristol.

Garre was preceded in death by brothers Floyd “Bud”, Jr. Clyde “Butch” and Charles and sisters:  Joan James and Patricia “Patty” Schell.

Garre graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago and received a BS Degree in Economics from Goshen College and Reppert Auctioneering School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was President of Michiana Marketing, President of Great American Homes, Evergreen Leasing & Finance, and of All-Mart, Inc., a licensed auctioneer and an international business consultant.

He was a member of Indiana Society of Auctioneers and American Tae Kwon Do Association.

Visitation for Garre is 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Friday March 15, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the 10 am service on Saturday March 16.  Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery, Bristol, with full military honors from the US Army and DAV 19.

Memorials may be made to Christian Children’s Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
