Gweneth J. (Strope) Harris

Gweneth “Gwen” J. Harris, 93, of Elkhart Passed away on Friday August 9, 2019 at Elkhart Hospice House.  Gwen was born on April 3, 1926 in Mishawaka to Victor D. and Waiva Strope.

Gwen graduated class of 1943 from Mishawaka High School. She retired from Midwest Commerce Bank after 15 years as a customer service representative. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Gwen is survived by her children, William (Dianna) Harris of Elkhart, Kim L. Alisch of Stevensville, MI and Beverly J. Harris of Elkhart; 7 grandchildren, Billy Harris, Carley (Art) Pernokis, Chad Harris, Jeff (Tim Taylor) Alisch, Matt Alisch, Chris (Jenna) Alisch and Brian Harris and 8 great-grandchildren. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott L. Harris; her grandson, Mark Harris and her sister Beverly G. Strope Thompson.

In keeping with Gwen’s wishes all services will be private. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is assisting her family.
