James F. Nagy

James F. Nagy, 78, of Goshen, passed away Saturday May 16, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born May 24, 1941 in Elkhart to John F. and Helen Nagy. He married Linda L. Roberts on November 22, 1964 at Central Christian Church in Elkhart.

James graduated from Jefferson High School class of 1959. He honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from NIPSCO in 2000. Retirement didn’t slow him down he enjoyed detailing cars He loved spending time outdoors with his lawn service, growing a garden or riding his motor cycle. He and his late wife Linda enjoyed going across American on their motorcycle, he always enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, the Goshen Moose Lodge and American Voyager Association.

James is survived by his 17 nieces and nephews, and 16 great-nieces and nephew and 19 great-great nieces and nephews, his sisters-in law Virginia Nagy and Arlene & Lloyd Schrock. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John (Annabelle) Nagy and Richard Nagy, his sister Helen J. (Michael) Tarr, his nephews, Michael J. Tarr, Matthew Flagg, Eric Sommers and his niece, Jeanne Skinner.

Friends may visit with family from 5- 7 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 with a vigil prayer service / rosary at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial at 11am at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1108 South Main Street Elkhart, IN 46516 with visitation one hour before mass at the church. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart. Memorial donations in memory of James may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 CR 19, Bristol, IN 46507.
