Janet C. Jenks

Janet C. Jenks,84, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 20, 1937 in Paullina, IA to Norman and Lenice Hagenbucher. Janet married Richard D. “Dick” Jenks on June 17, 1956 in Marcus, IA. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2014.

Janet worked as the office manager for Evan’s Metal in Elkhart. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Janet was an active member at Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen.  Janet was an avid sports fan who enjoyed attending sporting events as well as watching her children in their many activities. She enjoyed making her family’s life a little easier by helping where she could, her true love for life was the time she spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Terri (Lyle) Gaff of Goshen, Tom (Jeannene) Jenks of Bristol, Tami (Jason) Dean of Goshen and Toni (Erik) Ness of Mesa, AZ; 9 grandchildren, Adam (Katie) Gaff, Eric (Dani) Gaff, Olivia (Dylan) Jenks -Stoll, Ian Jenks, Amelia Dean, Lilah Dean, Landon Dean, and Garrett Ness and Bennett Ness; her sister Lori Lorenz of Des Moines, IA. Janet was preceded in death by her sisters Judy Taylor and Nancy Massman.

Visitation will be from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Faith United Methodist Church 22045 CR 18, Goshen, IN 46528 where visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Pastor John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
