Janet Mae Merrick

Janet Mae Merrick, 89, of Elkhart passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart, IN. Janet was born on June 15, 1933 in South Bend, IN and raised by Grant and Essie Lewis. She married Gale D. Merrick on December 29, 1989.

Janet graduated from Riley High School, class of 1951. For several years she worked as a medical office assistant. She had an applique sports apparel business. Jan was a joy to be with and she was full of life. She always took fun with her. She enjoyed traveling, vacationing, entertaining, and spending time with her family and multitude of friends. She was a member of the Four Arts Club. She was also a devoted church goer who participated in and initiated many church activities.  Her greatest time in life was the time she spent at her lake cottage with her family and friends. She took the “fun” wherever she went.

Janet is survived by her children, Gayle (Bill) Becker of Granger, IN., Karen (John) Kuklinski of Carmel, IN., Jill (Rick) Estes of Elkhart, IN and Brad (Toni) Martin of Granger, IN. 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and her sister Susan Arneaud of Elkhart, IN.
