Jean N. Kidder

Jean N. Kidder, age 98, of Elkhart, passed away at her daughter’s home Tuesday, June 8, 2022.

 She was born July 29, 1923 in Elkhart to Floyd and Gertrude Hammond.

Jean worked as an assembler for a musical instrument manufacturer, a welder at Dobbins Manufacturing, as a clerk at Montgomery Wards and a dietician at Elkhart General Hospital. She was a member at First Baptist Church of Elkhart.

Jean is survived by her children, Toby (Nancy) Kidder of Goshen, Janice Newton of Elkhart, Al (Susie) Kidder Soldotna, AK., Jerry (Patricia) Kidder of Osceola, IN; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren and a son-in-law Harry Newton of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Newton, a son-in-law Cliff Newton, 2 sisters and a brother and a great-great grandson, Asher.

Visitation for Jean will be 10 am- 1 pm on Friday 10, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where services will be at 1pm. Interment will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
