Jean L. (Multner) Leaverton

Jean L. Leaverton, 96 of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carl and Emma (Tansing) Multner. She married Joseph N. Leaverton on September 10, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is survived by 2 children, Dr. James Leaverton of Elkhart and Barbara (Douglas) Morse of Carmel, IN; 2 grandchildren, Brandon (Staci) Morse and Jennifer (Sheldon) Stephens and 2 great-grandchildren, Emerson and Porter Stephens. Mrs. Leaverton was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on January 11, 2008, a brother Robert Multner and her parents.

Jean was a devoted homemaker and was a volunteer for the Elkhart General Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed her dogs and gardening.

Visitation will be from 11am to 1 pm Monday, August 16th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, IN 46514, where her funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Reverend Keith McFarren will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
