Jesse Hugh Rex

Jesse Hugh Rex, 82, of Bristol passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jesse was born on October 17, 1936 in Syracuse, IN to Roscoe and Mary (Grames) Rex. He married Donna Gardner on February 6, 1981 at Bristol United Methodist Church in Bristol.

Jesse was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at Native Hardwoods going to the casino, scratch off lottery tickets, playing cards, fishing,  NASCAR and Notre Dame football. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He retired from the Meat Department at Kroger’s.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Donna and their children, Jeannie (Tom) Myers of Bristol, Judi (Jim) Edmundson of Bristol, Janee (David) Towner of Bristol, Ron (Brenda) Rex of Union, MI, Tonya (Rodney) Chris of Elkhart, Angela (Brian) Hershberger of Union, MI, Todd (Karen) Barrett of Elkhart, and his sister, Sandra (Dean) Sellers of Mottville, MI. and  grandchildren,Corey Rex, Courtni (Zach) Jellison, Amanda (Derek) Boling, Joe (Tara) Towner, Kayla (Serigo) Castro, Kelsey Rex, Crystal Hunsberger, Jessica Barrett, Tyler Barrett, Kevin Hershberger, Kristin (Isaiah) Kreider and  twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Rife, his brother Ralph Rex.

Friends may visit with family from 4pm-8pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Bristol United Methodist Church, 201 South Division Street, Bristol and one hour before the 10am Funeral Service on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Church with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol. Stemm- Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with funeral arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jesse to the church and Heartland Hospice, 230 West Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545 .
