Julie Ann (Connell) Merritt

Julie Ann Merritt, 65, of Elkhart passed away on October 28, 2019 at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born on October 21, 1954 in South Bend to Edward and Sylvia Connell. She married Steve Merritt on January 6, 1970.

Julie was a seamstress at Godfrey Marine for 15 year. She was co-owner of Merritt Landscaping. The last 15 years she has enjoyed being a homemaker. Taking care of her husband, gardening, canning and sewing. She was a member of Grace Apostolic Church in White Pigeon, MI.

Julie is survived by her husband, Steve Merritt of Elkhart; their daughter Angela Merritt of Shelbyville, TN.; their son, Shawn Merritt of Elkhart; her sister, Jeanie (John) Ray of Bristol, IN; her brother Ed Connell of Oregon and 6 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Cindy Connell; her brother, Chester Connell and her son, Michael C. Merritt.

Funeral services will be at 6pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514. Visitation will one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
