Larry Paul Hubartt

Larry Paul Hubartt, 86, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital.  Larry was born on September 22, 1937 to Lester Paul Hubartt and Treva Mullins in Goshen, Indiana.

Larry married Anna Brown on June 13, 1963. She survives along with three sons: Derek Hubartt of Elkhart, Darren (Lisa) Hubartt of Elkhart and Brian (Lizet) Hubartt of Albuquerque, NM as well as grandson Brayden Hubartt of Elkhart, sister Janet Helmuth of Goshen, and several nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Treva, two brothers Gerald and Wallace and sister Janay Morehouse and his daughter-in-law Sharon “Sherry” Kay Hubartt.

Larry graduated from Goshen High School in 1955. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy with a few of his classmates. He served aboard the USS Whetstone LSD-27. After leaving the service, Larry attended barber school and became a barber for Notre Dame. Later, he opened the South Side barber and Beauty Shop with two of his former classmates. He also opened up Kustom Kut and Beauty Salon with a partner and retired from there in 2004.

Larry was on the class reunion committee for the class of 1955. He was a member of Trinity United methodist Church where he ushered for many years. He also belonged to the Black Squirrel Golf Club and Goshen masonic Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and spending time with his sons and grandson.

Visitation will be from 10am-12pm on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 12pm where Pastor Arnell McCoy will officiate.
