Mike Ray Schmidt

Michael Ray Schmidt, age 59, of Goshen passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home. Mike was born on May 29, 1962 to Harold and Mary Schmidt in Elkhart.  

Mike graduated from Concord High School and worked at Meijer in the central kitchen. He enjoyed RC cars, drag racing and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Mike is survived by his mom Mary Lovely of Goshen; his brother Dennis Schmidt of Goshen; sister Kim (Charles) Newman of Goshen; children Roxanne Cook of Elkhart and Anthony Cook of Elkhart; cousins Ronnie (Lori) Cook, Jack (Tammy) Cook, Jim Cook, Louann (Joshua) King, Linda (Curtis) Perry and Marilyn Hemminger, aunts Ruby Cook and Phyllis Johnson as well as several aunts, uncles cousins and friends and his dog Fiona. Mike was preceded in death by his father Harold Schmidt, cousin Annette Humes and Aunt Winnie Lovely.

Friends may visit with family from 4- 8 pm Monday, September 20,2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 and visitation from 10am -11am. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
