Nancy C. Shaffer

Nancy Carol Shaffer, 91, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Greenleaf Health campus, Elkhart. She was born January 25, 1930 in Elkhart to Irvin and Thelma Helmuth. She married Melvin Shaffer who preceded her in death.

Nancy graduated from Concord High School in the top 7 of her class. Nancy retired from CTS Corp.   In her youth she enjoyed traveling. She and her husband had a large collection of vinyl records that they enjoyed listening to and swing dancing. She was very meticulous about things especially the flowers around her home and her yard. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren going to their different events.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Kim (Michael) Konecny, Courtney Kucala and Amanda (Imants) Jaunarajs, great-grandchildren, Tyler Kucala, Madison Lilly, Makenna Lilly, Brady Jaunarajs, Austin Jaunarajs, Payton Konecny, Lexi Jaunarajs and Preston Konecny, great-great grandson Vincent Kucala and her sister Gloria Lipp. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Elaine M. Taylor, son Carl Shaffer and granddaughter Jodi Koeppel.

Friends may visit 9:30am to 10:30am on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 10:30am She will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
