Nevin Wayne Meyer

Nevin W. Meyer, 83, of White Pigeon, MI, went home to be with Jesus Wednesday Oct. 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Grand Rapids, MI. to Leonard and Dorothy (Sytsema) Meyer.

On Feb. 14, 1958 in Grand Rapids he married Barbara Cooley, who survives along with 2 daughters:  Trisha Sellers of West Chicago, IL and Terrilynn (Matt) Bunner of White Pigeon, MI. and 2 sons: Robert (Janet) Meyer of Bristol, IN, and Randall Meyer of Warsaw, IN. and 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother Kenneth (Sarah) Meyer of Newago, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings:  Marian Sommer, Beryl (Ed) Bennett, Dona Kovalak, L. Ralph Meyer and Ivan Meyer.

Nevin was Executive Vice President of the Biotech Division of Miles Laboratories and President of Solvay Enzyme Corporation, retiring after 34 years.  He was a member of American Institute of Engineers, American Chemical Society, Alpha Beta Gamma and on the Board of Directors of Scataglini Ministries (SMI).

The most precious possessions to Nevin were his wife Barbara and his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, and playing in the lake and sharing time together.

He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, scuba diving, lapidary and reading.  He loved his family and lived his faith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Mission of Elkhart, First Baptist Church of Elkhart or Grace Hospice of Kalamazoo, MI.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 pm Saturday Oct. 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 53953 County Road 17, Bristol, IN. 46507.  A memorial service will follow at 3 pm.
